"Year 9 has been one
of the most enjoyable years of my life so far.
The range of subjects,
sports and extra-curricular activities ensures
that there is something here for everybody."
"All the subject teachers
care about your work and your well being, and they
encourage
you to go to them with any of your problems,
school related or not."
"John
Summers High School will provide pupils
with education of a high quality. We will
create a supportive environment in which
everyone is valued and expectations are
high. We are committed to working with
pupils, parents and the community in the
experience of learning together."
John
Summers High School is located just off the
A55 in Deeside. The school has good access in
all directions across the locality.
The school has a strong community
focus. A partnership between parents, staff,
the feeder primaries and the local community
ensure that each individual receives a supportive
and successful passage through school.
Our School is named John Summers
High School in acknowledgement of those people
who brought industry to the banks of the Dee
and sustained it with their ingenuity and hard
work.
We share our school library facilities
with Queensferry Library/Community centre, which
was built in 1996. The school is able to benefit
from this excellent shared facility.
All students at John Summers have
access to a wide range of very popular extra-curricular
activities including: sports, drama workshops,
computing clubs, languages, etc.
Three
establishments work together in partnership
with John Summers to provide a unique
learning opportunity, Connah's Quay High
School, Deeside College, Flint high School and St David's
High School.
